How to Help

Your financial support helps fund programs and materials not otherwise covered by the library’s operating budget and ensures that the library can continue to provide outstanding services to its patrons.
Using a credit card or Apple Pay, donate any amount through this page to join the Astoria Library Friends Association.

Gently used book donations may be made during the ALFA Bookshop’s hours of operation (Wednesday and Saturdays 10:30am-2:30pm) inside the Astoria Public Library.
No magazines, encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauruses or overly loved books, please.
Outside of Bookshop hours, donations are accepted at the library’s main desk. (Donors will need to transport books to the basement on carts provided by library staff.)

ALFA is currently looking for volunteers for the following tasks:
Web development
Graphic design
Newsletter contributions
Grant-writing experience or interest
Sort and prepare books for sale
Outreach and publicity
Occasional tasks
Create your own job!
Additionally, from time to time we look for library enthusiasts to serve on our Board. Comfort with computers is a must, as is an eagerness to works alongside friends and neighbors for the benefit of our library and community.
